Fans will be able to try out eight new games in the dedicated Nintendo Switch Area including Fall Of Porcupine (ASSEMBLE Entertainment/BUNTSPECHT.GAMES), a narrative adventure exploring the reality of an unhealthy healthcare system, How to Say Goodbye (ARTE France/Florian Veltman and Baptiste Portefaix), a heartfelt puzzler about grief and mourning loved ones, the real-world chemistry beer simulator Brewmaster (Fireshine Games/Auroch Digital), and Chorus Worldwide’s/Appnormals Team new mystery adventure Frank and Drake.

For those who cannot make the trip to Cologne, IAB has prepared a jam packed schedule filled with opportunities for people all over the world. Fans can explore IAB’s virtual booths via an interactive browser game playable exclusively at gamescom.now, try out all available demos in a dedicated Steam Festival, watch the many Twitch streams, and more, all from the comfort of their own homes.

“It feels amazing to once again be able to host such a physical, large-scale indie event, but the chance to do it hybrid for our friends that cannot join us in person is even better,” said Valentina Birke, Project Director, Indie Arena Booth. “That’s what the IAB has always been about–providing opportunities for developers and spreading their work as far as we can.”

On Tuesday, July 26, the IAB will open B2B networking opportunities so that publishers, press, streamers, and investors participating in the event can receive exclusive insights from exhibiting developers as well as an invitation to the in-person Indie Arena Booth reception during gamescom.

IAB’s return to gamescom 2022 would not be possible without the help of its official sponsors and partners including Intel, Twitch, Unity, Valve, Bitburger, Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action , medianet berlinbrandenburg e.V., Mediennetzwerk.NRW, Gamecity Hamburg, Games/Bavaria, nordmedia, and the Catalan Game Association.
