Gunnar X Tokidoki Collection review: They're Super Kawaii!!

Hello gamers and tech enthusiasts, I'm Racula and welcome to XPN Gaming. I had the fantastic opportunity of reviewing not one, not two, but three, yes three glasses from Gunnar.

What is Tokidoki I hear you ask, well Tokidoki is an internationally recognized and Iconic lifestyle brand. As an innovative company, it's not only known for its eye-popping aesthetic and kawaii cute characters, but also its megawatt partnerships.

They offers an extensive range of products which include apparel, handbags, cosmetics, accessories, toys and more.

Tokidoki x Gunnar Logo

I was given three from their Tokidoki Fall collection and I'm not gonna lie, I love them all.

The ones I was given from the collection are:

  • Sweet Fruits Unicorno

  • California Dreamin'

  • Flower Power

Lets start with the Sweet Fruits Unicorno and delve deeper into them.

Gunnar Sweet Fruits Unicorno, sounds like a character from My Little Pony.

Kitty Style Glasses

The Sweet Fruits Unicorno glasses feature a cat-eye shaped frame, perfect for you cat lovers out there, like myself.

On the Gunnar website, you have the choices of either an amber lens for computer based work.

Or you can chose a clear lens for outdoor sun protection.

They come with G-shield Plus lens coating, designed to reduce digital eye strain, block blue light and UV.

The frames have flexible spring hinges and come in a Banana Split colour only.

What that means, is the outer frame colour is black and the inside colour is a warm amber colour.

Both sides of the frames is stamped with a gold Tokidoki logo, it's also on the nose pads as well.

I feel purrfectly like a cat

I really loved wearing these glasses whilst gaming on the pc, whilst also wearing my Razer Kraken Kitty headphones at the same time.

I felt like a proper little Kawaii Kitty and got lots of compliments on how they suited me really well.

Only little issue I had, was they kept slipping off my nose, so I had to keep pushing them back up.

What do the Gunnar Sweet Fruits Unicorno glasses come with?

Look how cute the image is

So the Gunnar Sweet Fruits Unicorno glasses come with:

  • collectors microfiber pouch

  • collectors microfibre cleaning cloth

  • collectors glasses case

Both the pouch and cleaning cloth are the same yellow/orange colour and both have a similar logo on.

A kawaii little unicorn, with a banana like cape, a small banana logo on them, kinda like My little Pony.

Also both have a monkey on the designs, the cloth has more then one and has some writing on it as well.

Both super cute and very kawaii in my opinion.

Now the case is an interesting design, instead of it being your typical normal hard glasses case.

It instead comes in a triangular design, with a black, leather look on the outside.

With the Tokidoki X Gunnar logo and a magnetic flip-lid.

Where as the inside has an amber colour felt material, to fit with the banana split colour theme.

On to the next set of glasses I was given.

Am I California Dreamin' for Gunnar?

Gunnar X Tokidoki California Dreamin'
Simply dreamy

The California Dreamin' glasses have a round shape and half rim design to them.

Just like Sweets fruit Unicorno glasses on the Gunnar website, you have the choice of either the amber or clear lens.

Also, they come with G-shield Plus lens coating, designed to reduce digital eye strain, block blue light and UV.

They're a polymer and metal frame material, also the nose pads are hypoallergnic titanium an laser engraved with the Tokidoki logo.

Also the California Dreamin' Glasses come in a nice sky blue colour, with silver metal Tokidoki logo on both temples.

A dream like fit for me.

Personally, I absolutley love these glasses, they look and feel like my prescription glasses.

They're so comfortable and light weight to wear, just like a dream.

I could happily wear these all day and not realise I have them on at all.

Again, only little issue I had, was they kept slipping off my nose and had to keep pushing them back up.

But I think that's just a me thing, hopefully not everyone else has this little problem.

What do the Gunnar California Dreamin' glasses come with?

Meet some of the Tokidoki characters

Just like the Sweet Fruits Unicorno glasses, the California Dreamin' glasses come with:

  • collectors microfiber pouch

  • collectors microfibre cleaning cloth

  • collectors glasses case

On the pouch, is an image of two mermaid unicorn's either side of a happy little diamond in the middle.

Both surrounded by bubbles, one unicorn is white, with a pink tail and has pink, purple and green hair.

The other unicorn is green, with a blue tail and has yellow, purple and pink hair, it also has an anchor tattoo on its side.

The cloth features an all-star cast of tokidoki characters with pastel colors showing off sea, sand, snow and sky.

The glasses case is similar to the Sweet Fruits Unicorno case design wise.

Triangular shape, with with a black, leather look on the outside.

With the Tokidoki X Gunnar logo and a magnetic flip-lid.

The inside of the case, has a sky blue colour felt inside, to match the glasses.

On to the last set of glasses I was given.

Gunnar's Flower Power all the way

Gunnar X Tokidoki Flower Power Glasses
Groovy glasses

The Flower Power Gunnar glasses have a round shape design with the gold Tokidoki logo, that creates an elegant retro style.

The frames are made of oral coloured acetate, flexible spring hinges and have adjustable nose pads.

Also it comes in Pretty In Pink colour only.

Just like the other two glasses, they come with G-shield Plus lens coating.

Designed to reduce digital eye strain, block blue light and UV.

Flowertastic

Now don't get me wrong, I like these Gunnar glasses but personally, they're just not for me.

To be honest, I'm just not a fan on the floral design, I feel too girly with them on.

If there's one thing people should know about me, is I'm more of a rocker/goth type of girl.

So doing girly things, like dressing up or wearing anything too girly, just isn't my style at all.

But on the plus side of things, they're very comfy to wear and I didn't have any issues with them.

Here are some more of the Tokidoki characters

Just like the other two sets of Gunnar glasses, these ones come with:

  • collectors micofiber pouch

  • collectors microibre cleaning cloth

  • collectors glasses case

The pouch comes in white and adorns a flower on it with the words Flower Power aboce and below it.

Inside the flower are three characters from the Tokidoki range.

Now the cleaning cloth has an all-star cast of the Tokidoki characters, set in a peaceful petatopia.

Interestingly, unlike the other two glass cases, this one comes in cylinderical form, with a flip lid.

It's still comes in black, but has more of a sort of very thin felt feel to it.

Inside is very pale pink colour, to keep it tied to the colour of the glasses.

It's all so kawaii!

Overall, I loved all three of the Tokidoki Gunnar glasses I was given.

I am very greatful and feel honoured, for the opportunity to have reviewed them.

Out of all three of the glasses, my personal favourite ones are the California Dreamin' design.

Followed closely by the Sweet Fruits Unicorno and then the Flower Power glasses.

For any one who is a content creator, gamer, does a lot of editing on pc's, I fully recommend them.

They are definitely worth it, especially if your sitting in front of a pc screen for a long while.

Thank you to everyone, who has had a moment to read this article, I'm very appreciative of you all. Also thank you to Gunnar, for giving me this great opportunity to review these glasses.
