Hello, gaming and furniture enthusiasts! I’m Lewis, and welcome to another XPN Gaming news piece!
Imagine being trapped inside a well-known flat-pack furniture store… but this time the nightmare isn’t because you left Christmas shopping too late or because you’re missing one crucial screw from a table that definitely should have come with all its parts. No, this time, you need to escape because the customer service is too damn helpful—and for once you really, really don’t want their assistance.
Endless aisles stretch into the darkness, shortcuts lead nowhere, and you can’t even find the bloody exit signs. Welcome to Storebound, a co-op survival horror game where your biggest problem isn’t arguing with your partner over which reasonably priced sofa looks best—it’s surviving the night.
By day, you and your fellow lost shoppers will explore the labyrinthine hellscape of perfectly staged living rooms, kitchen setups you wish you had, and dodgy warehouse aisles stacked to the ceiling. You'll gather supplies, manage your resources, and attempt to figure out why there are sixteen different paths to the same display bed but not a single sign pointing to the exit.
But then… closing time hits.
The bright, cheery atmosphere? Gone. The friendly, overenthusiastic staff? Still here—but now they really want to help, and their idea of “assisting customers” looks a lot like hunting you down! Unlike real retail workers, these ones have unlimited energy and a disturbing enthusiasm for their jobs. As if they were being paid OVERTIME!
1-4 Player Co-op – Misery Loves Company in Storebound
Team up with up to three other terrified shoppers and use proxy voice chat to whisper strategies when close by or walkie-talkies when separated—assuming you can find one in this oversized nightmare. Stay quiet, because noise attracts the staff, and trust us... this isn’t the kind of customer service you can just fill out a complaint card for.
Every Second Counts—But You’ll Probably Waste It
Keep moving, keep searching, but don’t waste too much time marvelling at the reasonably priced furniture. The longer you stay, the more the store shifts—hallways loop, shortcuts disappear, and the staff become more aggressive. You might think you’re making progress, but in reality, you’re just one wrong turn away from a manager finding you!
Collecting What You Need During Opening Hours
Resource Gathering: Scour the endless aisles for food, tools, and supplies—everything you can grab to keep you from starving or facing imminent doom. Yes, even the cheap candles and that random packet of napkins might come in handy.
Strategic Progression: Plot your next move carefully. Search for hidden pathways, dodgy shortcuts, and potential hideouts while trying not to get lost in a maze of oddly stylish sectional sofas and inexplicably complicated shelving units. Manage your dwindling resources like it's the last sale of the season.
Nightmare Time (Good Night, Good Luck)
Stealth Survival: When the lights go out, hiding is your only hope. The store's "employees" aren't here to help you find a missing part—they're here to find you and assemble your fears.
Limited Visibility: Navigate the pitch-black aisles using your flashlight—if you can find one— and rely on environmental clues to guide you. Every creak of the floor could lead to an unwanted interaction with a manager. Stay quiet, stay low and don't make eye contact with the lamps!

IKEA Wait To Escape This Place, Now Where's My Meatballs?
Can you and your friends outsmart the store, avoid its overly dedicated employees, and finally find the exit? Or will you become yet another lost customer, doomed to wander the aisles for eternity—forever searching for an escape that doesn’t exist?
Storebound — just like real furniture shopping, but with more existential dread and fewer meatballs.
Prepare yourselves, it's open all hours and you are only going to survive if you are careful! Unless like me you get easily distracted by shiny things and pillow forts. So I have high hopes for the game, but not my survival rate, check out Storebound and Wishlist today!
Keep your eyes peeled for a future review and further gameplay!
