What is Blasphemous: The Board Game

The game offers a 1-4 player competitive adventure featuring an intriguing asymmetrical character growth system, thanks to customizable trait dice and one of four distinct Penitent "classes."

A randomized narrative experience further immerses players into the game's rich lore, ensuring that no two playthroughs unfold the same.

Penitents and enemies come to life as beautifully detailed miniatures, a signature of Ludus Magnus Studio. The high production quality of all components is on par with what you’d expect from the makers of Nova Aetas Renaissance and Black Rose Wars, two of their previous fan-favorite games.

The rendering previews are insanely detailed, but Ludus Magnus Studio is known for actually delivering. I can't wait to have my painter hands on these!

Explore Cvstodia

You will travel through iconic locations from the video game, battle enemies, and complete quests to prepare for the boss encounter.

The connection between locations faithfully mirrors the video game to please longtime fans, but the map isn’t just for aesthetics! The designers have meticulously crafted it to be as functional as possible, allowing nearly all game components (except player boards) to be organized directly on it for easy access, quick setup, and fast teardown.

The Board is beautiful as much as it is useful during play.

Highly Replayable – No Two Games Are the Same

Each boss has its own unique victory condition, and direct combat is just one of many ways to defeat them.

Every playthrough will feature different personal and public quests that players can resolve to gain power, as well as Vestiges to discover—like Rosary Beads, Skills, and Prayers.

The asymmetrical Penitents and their customization options also ensure that no two games will play the same!

And reaching the Nemesis is just the beginning of your troubles.

This final epic confrontation will test your resolve, readiness, memory, and strategic positioning at all times, with a randomized deck of actions that the Nemesis will act upon.

The Arena brings a ton of flavour, but more importantly, it introduces a ton exciting new mechanics that elevate every Nemesis confrontation the pinnacle of the experience!

Unique Penitent Growth & Customization

Each Penitent has a custom card and board that neatly organizes their growth, stats, and equipment. Vestiges found during the game can be easily slotted on the side of the Penitent Board.

Player boards look amazing to setup and teardown the game faster, while keeping your table well organized.

The game also features customizable dice, where you can swap out different faces with specific icons that evolve throughout gameplay. This system allows you to shape your Penitent’s abilities in each session, making every playthrough feel unique.

These kind of dice have been explored by a few other games, but the fact that faces are tied to Vestiges makes it an interesting twist to have here.

Tomes and Exploration

Uncover the secrets of Cvstodia through story booklets—each quest contains up to four booklets, one general and up to three specific.

Whenever you explore a location free of enemies, you’ll discover unique encounters, challenging tests, and even mini-battles with valuable rewards.

We've seen games with similar story entries ranging from awefully boring to super thematic. I'm hoping these will be exciting!
